Newly Elected/Appointed

Supreme Court Board on Continuing Legal Eduction
On December 18, 2009, John P. Paone, Jr., Esq. was appointed by Chief Justice Rabner to serve a two-year term on the Supreme Court Board on Continuing Legal Education, established under R. 1:42-2.  The Board is chaired by Justice Rivera Soto and is assigned with the task of administering the newly enacted Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Program in New Jersey, which took effect on January 1, 2010.  The new Program requires all attorneys to obtain 24 hours of continuing legal education credits every two years in order to practice law in this state. 

American Academy of Matrimonial Laywers
The American Acadmeny of Matrimonial Laywers has elected John P. Paone, Jr. as First Vice President of its New Jersey Chapter. The Academy was founded in 1962 to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards and advance the cause of matrimonial law, to the end that the welfare of the family and society be protected. There are currently 1600 members in 50 states and 77 members in New Jersey. Mr. Paone had previously served as Board of Manager, Secretary and Second Vice President for the Chapter.  Mr. Paone was installed at the Chapter's annual dinner on June 5, 2010.

Middlesex County Bar Association
John P. Paone, Jr. will be installed as President of the Middlesex County Bar Association on May 11, 2011 at a ceremony to take place at the Pines Manor in Edison, New Jersey.  Mr. Paone had previously served as First Vice President, Second Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Bar. Mr. Paone was sworn in at the induction ceremony on May 25, 2010.

New Jersey Supreme Court Committee
The New Jersey Supreme Court has appointed John P. Paone, Jr. as a member of the newly formed Ad Hoc Committee on the code of Judicial Conduct. The Committee, chaired by former Chief Justice Deborah T. Poritz, will examine New Jersey's Code of Judicial Conduct and recommend changes to the standards of conduct required of the State's approximately 800 judges. The Committee's report is expected to by completed in 2009.

Family Law Executive Committee
Megan S. Murray was appointed to serve as a voting member of the Family Law Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association for 2010-2011.  Ms. Murray will serve on several sub-committees to help promote, advance and improve the Family Law Section of the State Bar.


New Jersey Family Lawyer
Megan S. Murray was appointed as an associated editor to the New Jersey Family Lawyer.  The New Jersey Family Lawyer is a periodical circulated throughout the State, which features articles devoted solely to issues related to family law.  
Co-Chair of the Young Lawyer's Subcommittee (YLS) of the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association for the 2009-2010 year.  YLS provides young attorneys with educational opportunities and networking opportunities with attorneys across the state.  YLS also provides substantial assistance to the Family Law Executive Committee. 

Monmouth County Bar Association Family Law Committee

Megan S. Murray, Esq. has been appointed as a member of the Monmouth County Bar Association's Family Law Committee for a three (3) year term to commence in the 2010-2011 year.  Ms. Murray is an active member of the Monmouth County Bar Association and looks forward to contributing to the success of the Family Law Committee.
