John P. Paone, Jr. and Robert M. Zaleski have been named again as New Jersey Super Lawyers. They wll both be featured in the April 2010 issue of New Jersey Monthly Magazine. Only 5 percent of New Jersey lawyers receive this honor. They each have been recognized as Super Laywers every year since the rating commenced in 2005. Congratulations to both of them.
The Law Offices of Paone & Zaleski has received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the well known Registry of lawyers. An AV rating represents the highest recognition in both legal ability and ethical conduct. The AV rating is compiled based on confidential opinions of members of the Bar and Judiciary. The rating has entitled the firm to be listed in the Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers.
John P. Paone, Jr. was once again selected to be included in the 2010 edition of "The Best Lawyers in America." The publication by Woodward & White identifies leading attorneys throughout the country. The selection process is based on the votes of leading attorneys throughout the country on the legal abilities of their colleagues. Mr. Paone joins only 30 matrimonial attorneys in New Jersey to earn this distinction.
On June 28, 2010, John P. Paone, Jr., will receive the Distinguished Service Award presented by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Paone is being recognized for his many years of contributions to legal education in New Jersey. The ceremony will take place at the Law Center in New Brunswick at 6:00 p.m..
John P. Paone, Jr. has been certified by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers as a family law arbitrator. Under New Jersey law, parties can agree to have their matters decided by an arbitrator, thereby eliminating the cost and stress of courtroom litigation. Under the recently decided case of Fawyzy v. Fawzy, all children's issues, including child custody can now be decided through arbitration. Mr. Paone is available to perform arbitration of all family type matters.
Edward Schoifet Award In honor of his oustanding work as a leader in the practice of divorce and family law, John P. Paone, Jr. has received the 2008 Edward Schoifet Award, presented by the Family Law Committee of the Middlesex County Bar Association. The award is a highly prestigious honor that commemorates the legacy of Edward Schoifet who passed away in 2006. Ed was recognized as a true role model for all family law practitioners. Much like Ed, John has been recognized as an accomplished family law attorney as well as a fair and just adversary.
Over the past 25 years, John has rightly earned an excellent statewide reputation in the practice of divorce and family law. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and is a former chair of the New Jersye State Bar Association's Family Law Section. John is a certified matrimonial law attorney and a recipient of the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section Tischler Award, recognizing his contributions made to the practice of family law and the legal profession. John currently serves as Secretary of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and Second Vice-President of the Middlesex County Bar Association. He practices law as the senior partner of Paone & Zaleski in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
Rising Stars Awards Daniel H. Brown, Esq. and Megan S. Murray, Esq. have been selected as 2009 Super Lawyers list of "Rising Stars." Rising Stars are the best attorneys 40 years of age or younger, or who have been practicing less than ten (10) years. The selection process was made after balloting the top 5% of attorneys named as Super Laywers, extensive independent credentials research, a blue ribbon panel process and a final review and check of good standing. This is Mr. Brown's second year being selected as a Rising Star.
Certification By Supreme Court
On June 9, 2009, Daniel H. Brown, Esq. was certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a "Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney." Mr. Brown is a member of the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association; a member of the Middlesex County Bar Association; a member of the Assignment Judge Francis' Courthouse Committee on the Family Court in Middlesex County; and a member of the Early Settlement Program in Middlesex County.
2010 Martin S. Goldin Family Law Award
The 2010 winner of the Martin S. Goldin Family Law Award is Daniel H. Brown, Esq., senior associate with the Woodbridge law firm of Paone & Zaleski. Dan will be presented with the award on January 20th at the Association’s Annual Family Law Dinner Meeting, to be held at The Pines Manor in Edison (see page 7 for details on the dinner meeting).
In 2002, the Middlesex County Bar Association mourned the loss of Martin S. Goldin. “Marty” was the longtime Chair of the Family Law Section. Marty was universally regarded as a fair and reasonable adversary and was renowned for his good nature, collegiality and genuine respect for all members of the bench and bar.
In February 2003, the Family Law Section announced the establishment of the Annual Martin S. Goldin Family Law Award, to be presented each year to a Family Law Practitioner who has been engaged in the practice for 15 years or less and exemplifies those principles by which Marty practiced family law, including: a continuous study of past and present case law; careful and detailed analysis of each case; presentation of the issues and applicable law to clients in a readily understandable manner; attempting to settle issues on a fair and reasonable basis before resorting to litigation; fostering respect and courtesy for the bench and bar; maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism, and exhibiting leadership in the County or State Bar Association.
Dan epitomizes the qualities in a lawyer that were especially important to Marty.
Dan received his B.A. degree from Rutgers University, Rutgers College in 1997, graduating with Honors. In 2000, he received his Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University, Seton Hall Law School.
Dan has been with Paone and Zaleski since 2001. His practice is limited exclusively to divorce and family law. Prior to joining the firm, he served as law clerk to the Hon. Vincent LeBlon, J.S.C.
In 2009, Dan became one of only 137 attorneys to be certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a “Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney”. He is a member of the New Jersey State and Middlesex County Bar Associations. He is a member of the family law sections of the New Jersey State and Middlesex County Bar Associations. He is a qualified family law mediator. Dan is a member of the Middlesex County Bar Association, Long Range Planning Committee and a member of Assignment Judge Francis’ Courthouse Committee on the Family Court in Middlesex County. In 2007-2009, Dan was listed among the “New Jersey Super Lawyers – Rising Stars” in the New Jersey Monthly Magazine. Dan is presently a court appointed panelist for the Middlesex County Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel. Dan is also a volunteer for the Women Helping Women Family Law Clinic.
Dan also takes great interest in politics. In 2007, he was a major party candidate for the New Jersey State Senate in the 18th legislative district. In 2004, he was a major party candidate for the East Brunswick Township Council.
Dan resides in East Brunswick with his wife Allison and their two young daughters.
